From Vienna and the east, vehicles run via Hungary, Serbia and Bulgaria to Kapıkule; from Graz and Klagenfurt the Slovenia–Croatia route is also possible.

- For a permanent export, the registration is cancelled at a registration office (usually at your insurer's Zulassungsstelle) and the plates are returned.
